Dub wisdom and global fusion that hits like a brick landing on a featherbed; LIONS GATE is a musical movement and a spiritual evolution. The group consists of three NYC based veteran multi-instrumentalist artists that answered a Universal call to improvise this powerful project during the opening of The Lions Gate Portal in 2021.

Portal

Patrick Dougher, Yako 440 and Erik Rabasca applied the full force of their combined talents, taking us on a trip from London to Lagos and from Kingston to Motown. 11 tracks that drop heavy reggae, moody trip-hop, lava hot hi-life / afrobeat, smooth soulful funk and deep jazzy drum ‘n’ bass. All delivering a positive message and warm earthy feels guaranteed to make you move. 

LIONS GATE sound is rebellious and militant, raw and sophisticated. “PORTAL” is a mix of eclectic influences- imagine Fela Kuti, Funkadelic, Roots Radics and Portishead jamming at a Brooklyn house party.
